September 20-27 will certainly be remembered due to an outpour of people from as many as 150 countries across the world to inform, educate and protest for the ever-growing climate change on the planet.

Youngsters, men, women, children and senior citizens have been taking to the streets to demand enforcement of strict actions to combat the nemesis called climate change.

Likewise, ample Pakistanis came out on 20th September to support the cause in different cities. Celebrities like Shaniera Akram, Adnan Malik, Rachel Viccaji and others also made sure to attend the event.

The absolutely surreal Ushna Shah, who has always been pretty vocal about issues which are clouding the society, took to Instagram to express her concerns on climate change. “In spite of all the problems I sometimes feel I have, I am beyond blessed. I have been fortunate enough to travel to so many beautiful places, and every now and then I try to share these places with you. So that you can experience them with me virtually or maybe plan to visit yourself one day (if destiny allows). The world is a fantastic place meant to be explored. It is beautiful and bountiful. Every culture must be learnt, every language must be heard, every food must be tasted and every view must be taken in,” she wrote.

?Words can not convey the gratitude I feel. It’s overwhelming and I’d like to share it with you:? ? ? In spite of all the problems I sometimes feel I have, I am beyond blessed. I have been fortunate enough to travel to so many beautiful places, and every now and then I try to share these places with you. So that you can experience them with me virtually or maybe plan to visit yourself one day (if destiny allows). The world is a fantastic place meant to be explored. It is beautiful and bountiful. Every culture must be learnt, every language must be heard, every food must be tasted and every view must be taken in.? ? ? We can fill our homes up with fancy things but nothing will ever compare to filling our memory box up with fantastic moments on this beautiful planet we have been blessed with.? ? ? This planet is a gift to us, and while we have the right to enjoy it, it is our duty to protect it. Climate change is real, and we are responsible. Wildlife is deteriorating; we are living in the sixth mass extinction and we are responsible. Deforestation is real and we are responsible. Every choice we make affects our beautiful planet. So PLEASE make conscientious decisions. Avoid plastic, do not support products that test on animals, limit pollution as much as you can and support clean-ups in your area. Protect wildlife, protect animals, plant trees, reduce water usage, use ecologically sustainable items, boycott businesses that release toxic waste, drive low emission cars, SPEAK UP when need be, do not support war, spread awareness and learn more! ? ? ? She went on to talk about the importance of “memories on this beautiful planet” that we have. She continued, “This planet is a gift to us, and while we have the right to enjoy it, it is our duty to protect it. Climate change is real, and we are responsible. I want to go baaaaack ???? ? So here’s a little bit about Table Mountain in Cape Town. It is THE landmark (they have many). But Table Mountain looks over the entire city, and the entire city surrounds it. It is called table mountain for obvious reasons (it’s flat surface, in the ancient world it used to be a valley). There are many legends and myths that are connected to it: for example, it was known as “the sleeping giant” since it resembles one (if you squint enough). The people of the land believed the Mountain had powers and could bless them. Anyway back to what it is now: a national park! You can hike up or take the cable car. It is beautifully preserved, has lovely trails for various levels of hikes, even has a store and a coffee shop (but you won’t find an inkling of trash). Once you take on one of the trails for a lovely stroll (since the mountain has a flat peak), you can come across different wildlife such as porcupines, mongooses, snakes, the rare ghost frog and many more! The mountain has its own climate and you will come across indigenous flora and fauna (beautiful exotic flowers sprouting right out of the rocks it seemed!) If it’s particularly cloudy you might only catch glimpses of the Cape Town view but you’ll get to walk in the clouds! I did; the further in I went the cloudier it was, and the spookier it felt. I could imagine being back in time, a wanderer who came all the way up to meet the sleeping giant. It was haunting, mythical, magical. There was a low rumble of ancestral souls chanting from deep within the mountain; the magic of nature resonated throughout. It was profound, it was majestic. And it was superbly well preserved! It is listed as a national park and the locals make sure it is respected as such. Hats off to South-Africa for sharing their 7th natural wonder of the world (officially) with tourists and managing to preserve its natural state. A MUST visit for everyone. #capetown #southafrica #tablemountain #wanderer #travelgram #ushnashah #wanderlust #travel #mountain #peak #hike #sleepinggiant #ushna #mysticalmountains #tourismafrica #motherland #themotherland #traveldiaries #ushnashahtravels
